WELCOME FROM CEO DAN THOMAS
NEWS FROM
Issue 1, March 2024
It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to the first edition of the new TLP newsletter, sharing updates and successes from around the trust. TLP has now been open for around six months and in that time there has been a significant amount of success. Of course, the work behind building this trust started well before 1st September 2023. The TLP story started in the summer term 2022 with The Learning for Life Partnership and The Learning Alliance beginning to work together to explore the benefits of coming together as one, brand new organisation. This year of planning enabled the trust to have a smooth start and all our schools to feel part of something new. Like any change there have been some issues along the way, but I want to thank everybody involved in TLP for enabling us to start this new organisation in such a successful manner. It was incredible to have received the award of SLT of the Year in the National MAT Awards, but it wouldn’t have been possible without the hard work and commitment from everyone involved in the organisation. It is great to see the strength and depth of the trust grow in the first six months with the addition of Dove Bank Primary School and new colleagues appointed into the central team, as well as the opening of new buildings and nursery provisions. As a trust we are committed to supporting all our of our schools to ensure that they give the pupils the very best experiences and opportunities. We are doing this through our three priorities of attracting and retaining the best PEOPLE, allowing them to deliver their PASSION for education, delivering exceptional PERFORMANCE for all. I hope that you enjoy reading about some of our progress in each of the areas in this newsletter. Thank you for all of your hard work and I look forward to the achievements that the next term brings.
MAT LEADERSHIP TEAM OF THE YEAR WINNERS On the 7th March, the trust received recognition at the national Multi Academy Trust Awards, being awarded the Leadership Team of the year in what was a hotly contested category with seven shortlisted trusts from across the country. In receiving the award the trust and its leadership team were recognised for “demonstrating unparalleled dedication to fostering an educational environment at TLP that would allow every pupil to flourish.” CEO Dan Thomas commented, “We are absolutely thrilled to be recognised at the National MAT Awards. Every single member of staff at The Learning Partnership deserves to be acknowledged for this achievement, especially following the merger in September 2023 leading to the formation of the trust.”
