What happens within each Season? Where does our food come from? What do we have or what can we do now that we couldn’t as a baby? (baby photos). Looking at changes through harvest. To know the names of each season. To know where our food comes from. To understand how we have changed as a child of God.
Why is there a night time and a day time? What happens when the sun goes down? Where do we live? What planet do we live on? Where do stars come from? To know that we live on planet Earth. To know there are other countries on planet Earth. To understand the job of an astronaut and what they do on the moon. To represent the colours of each planet in the solar system. To understand that stars are made up of a giant cloud of dust and gas.
What is a fairy tale? Who might you meet in a fairy tale? Fairy tales can change as they are re-told and rewritten by different authors. There are heroes and villains in stories. To know that a story has a main character(s) and a setting. Traditional story language “Once Upon A Time…” “Happily Ever After…” To know that a story has a beginning, a middle and an end (with a problem and a resolution).
What is a superhero? Can anyone be a superhero? What do they look like? What makes a superhero a super-hero? To know that a hero is someone/thing who is admired for their courage, bravery and achievements. To know that everyone is a superhero, we know what makes us unique and how we can keep our mind and body healthy. Real life superheroes are all around us, teachers, doctors, religious leaders – to understand why they are heroes. Understanding how we can keep our bodies and minds healthy through eating, drinking and exercise.

People Who Help Us
What will happen if I plant this seed? What do plants need to grow? Can you name the parts of a lifecycle or specific minibeast? What happens to the plant/food stuffs over time? To know that a minibeast is a small creature which has no backbone. To know that plants grow from seeds or bulbs. To understand what is essential for plants and minibeasts to grow.
Who helps us? How can we find the right person to help us? What can we do if we are in danger? To understand a variety of occupations and how each of them helps us. To form questions to ask these individuals. To know that we cannot ask anyone and some people may not be kind/helpful. To know we can dial 999, if we are having an emergency. To understand the importance of knowing their age, full name and address of where they live. Stranger Danger – who can we give this information to?
