27th September 2024 Dear Parent Carers, Weekly Update: 27/09/24 We hope this update finds you well. The first few weeks of school have flown by, and students and staff are settling into the new school year and routines. We have some updates to share with you regarding communications from school and finding out more about your child’s learning. Arbor Parent App and Communications We have recently updated our school Management Information System to Arbor – this is where student details including attendance and contact details are stored. Arbor has some great features that we are looking to share with Parent Carers through their App soon – this includes in-app messages, attendance overview, requests to update contact details or student information. Eventually, we are planning to use Arbor for payments to school for things such as meals and off-site visits. The Arbor Parent App is available through the Apple and Android App stores. You will receive details of your username and instructions on how to set up a password shortly along with further information. Please get in touch with us if you have any issues with downloading the App. Evidence for Learning App Thank you to all parents and carers who attended our Parents’ Evening this week. It was lovely to see so many of you in school. This year, we have set up EfL to showcase the student’s EHCP targets as personal learning goals; these were discussed in your meetings with staff on Tuesday. We are excited to begin gathering evidence of all the wonderful progress our young people are making and will be starting to share this on our EfL Family App. A letter will go out to our Year 7 parents soon with more information. If you cannot access the Efl Family app, please contact your child’s pastoral teacher. School Photographs Tempest Photography are in school on Thursday 17th October to take individual student portraits. Students will receive a paper proof to take home, and will be able to order photographs online.
