21st March 2025

Dear Parent Carers, Weekly Update: 21/03/25 I hope this update finds you well. I’m sure you know that St Martins is a place that never stands still and is constantly developing to meet the needs of the students and staff. We encourage our staff to continually develop themselves and to step into new opportunities to share their expertise and knowledge with the wider world, as we seek to improve opportunities for all young people with SEND. Therefore, it is with mixed emotions that I share some important news with you. At the end of this academic year, I will be moving on from St Martins School to take on a new role as Director of Performance and Standards at Esteem Multi Academy Trust, which will start from September. Being Headteacher of St Martins has been an incredible journey, and I feel truly privileged to have been part of such a dedicated team within the school, and as part of the Shaw Education Trust. The experiences I have gained here have been invaluable in preparing me for this next chapter. This new role presents an exciting opportunity to make a difference at Trust level and beyond, as I continue to advocate for a stronger SEND system - one that ensures our young people receive the very best opportunities in life, as we strive to shape an inclusive society in which everyone can succeed. One of our mottos at St Martins is Shaping Successful Futures, and I am confident that the impact of this new role will provide opportunities for even more young people to have a successful future. I am immensely proud of our students, staff, and wider community, and I have no doubt that St Martins will continue to grow from strength to strength. Esteem Multi Academy Trust operates across the Midlands, and I look forward to strengthening collaborations between the schools and Trusts in the future and maximise the benefits of robust networks of likeminded organisations. In the coming weeks, Shaw Education Trust will work closely with the Academy Council to begin the recruitment process for a new Headteacher. We will, of course, keep you updated throughout this process. Thank you for your ongoing support - I look forward to continuing to work forwards and celebrating the rest of this academic year with you all. Please get in touch if you have any feedback or concerns regarding these changes.
