10th March 2023 Dear Parent Carers, Weekly Update: 10/03/23 I hope this update finds you well. Thank you for your support over yesterday and today with the snow – our priority is to always maintain the health and safety of our students and staff, and your response to our messages regarding this makes a big difference. Students who made it in had great fun playing in the snow yesterday. Even Martin has had a snow day today due to the roads! KS3BH and KS3SG have been on residential near Black Rocks – making snowmen, gem panning, fossil hunting, rocket building, and camp fire bush craft. Sustainable Shape Day On Wednesday we held a ‘Sustainable Shape Day’, with students going to different classrooms to learn about the Sustainable Development Goals. These Goals are all part of a global commitment to improve our world by the year 2030 focusing on issues such as Quality Education, Climate Change and Wellbeing. Students took part in practical activities such as creating a sensor for filling a well, built wind turbines, fruit carriers, and cost of food challenges. Roderick in KS3KF said, “This is the best day, it’s so much fun!” Staff and students thoroughly enjoyed the activities and students showed many of our St Martins skills and attitudes throughout the day, especially Teamwork.
