Maths In Maths:
Yr1 - Place value to 20 & 50, addition and subtraction, length and height, mass and volume. Yr2 - Money, multiplication and division, length and height, mass, capacity and temperature. Yr3 - Multiplication and division, length and perimeter, fractions, mass and capacity.
Science This term we will be investigating 1: ‘Sound’ and 2: ‘Electricity’. Unit 1 ‘Sound’ will teach children about how vibrations cause sounds and how they travel. They will also consider pitch and loudness. We will be able to: Describe sounds around them. Identify high and low sounds. Identify loud and quiet sounds. Observe how different sounds are made. Describe how sounds change over distance. Investigate materials to find which is the best to absorb sound. Answer questions based upon their learning. Create a musical instrument that will make different sounds. Predict what will happen in an investigation. Make observations. Unit 2 focuses on ‘Electricity’. We will be able to: Identify electrical and non-electrical appliances. Explain, with support, how a circuit works. Name at least two electrical conductors and insulators. Create a simple series circuit both with and without a switch.
