HOME- SCHOOL AGREEMENT THE AIMS OF THE SCHOOL The aims of this Home-School Agreement are: to consolidate that working partnership by being explicit about our expectations to help one another so that we give our children the very best education we can provide within the resources we have. The Aims of the School have been written to reflect the culture and ethos that already exists in the school and what we believe to be important. Our School Aims are: Working as a team and with our community We will create a secure, enjoyable, challenging and successful learning experience in which each person is valued across the range of ability, culture and gender. We will promote independence, self-esteem, respect, responsibility and caring in our children. We will promote equal opportunities. We will celebrate our cultural diversity. We will create awareness of the importance of our environment to us all and encourage active participation. We will encourage the children to take an active part in the learning process to achieve their full potential and aim for their highest standards. We will foster in the children a love of learning and a sense of belonging to the school community and an awareness of their role as global citizens. We will promote Unicef Rights of the child and help every child to respect the rights of all. The School staff work very hard, with the support of parents, to ensure that the ethos of the school is based on care, kindness and respect. The Agreement is divided into three parts – one for the School’s staff, one for parents and one for children on the following pages.
SCHOOL STAFF AGREE TO: Promote and respect everyone’s rights Recognise that parents play a vital role in fostering and developing the children’s abilities. Provide a safe, happy and inclusive environment within which the children can work. Develop a challenging learning environment offering access to a broad and balanced curriculum and meet the individual needs of each child. Prepare the children and develop their skills for life-long learning. Ensure that top-quality teaching and learning are organised and implemented. Encourage and support each child to achieve his/her full potential. Promote the highest standards of behaviour and mutual respect throughout School Maintain our open, welcoming atmosphere in which parents are listened to and informed about their child’s development and the activities of the school. Encourage parents and members of the community to become involved in the life of the school. Sustain the school's part of the positive behaviour agreement. Sustain the school's part of the race equality policy. Set and monitor the children's homework. To investigate and try to solve any concerns parents may have.
