PRIDE AND POSITIVITY by Mr Downes, Headteacher
It has been an eventful and packed term. I have been delighted by the way all of our students have returned to school, wearing their uniform with pride and committing to their learning. Looking forward, we are building towards the Y11s' first pre-public examinations in November. This is a hugely important opportunity for students to practice examination revision techniques, and identify gaps in their knowledge and understanding. Over the last few weeks, we have been pleased to open the school to prospective families. The Open Evening, Wednesday, 28th September, and several Open Mornings, where families have had a chance to tour the school during a normal working day, have brought in high numbers of interested families from across the local and surrounding areas. I have been incredibly proud of the universally positive feedback we have received from our visitors about our students, and their positive and kind attitudes. I am looking forward to an in-take for next year's Y7 (2023) that will exceed this year's record numbers of over 130. These are exciting times here at Rye College as we continue to create bright futures for all and build on the transformative work of the last few years. Wishing all our families and students a fantastic half term break.
