PRIDE AND JOY by Mr Downes, Headteacher As we all anxiously look forward to the festive break, we are all conscious that the pandemic continues to undermine our plans and the return to normality. However, I also look forward to the festivities with a sense of pride and joy. Looking back over what has been a tough term, I am grateful to my colleagues, the students, you and the community for the support and hard-work everyone has put in. We continue to build our curriculum with the vision of transforming life through learning, developing subject’s schemes of work with increased focus on what needs to known and what should be achieved to progress. I would encourage you to visit our website and explore the curriculum pages to better understand what your child is learning here. On a separate note, I am delighted to announce the secondment of Mr. Franks to the senior team to lead on behaviour. Mr. Franks will bring his considerable knowledge, strategic vision and operational skill to the team, and I am very pleased to have him onboard. I would also like to thank Jim Sharpe, who is stepping down from his role of chair of the Academy Advisory Council. Jim has supported the school in its drive for improvement and has been a huge help to me personally, providing counsel and advice throughout. We wish him and his family luck in all of their future endeavours. This leaves me to wish you all a very happy, restful and festive holiday. We will see you in the New Year!
