Value of the half term: Start of the School Day - Please Read! From Monday 14 November, children should go directly to the classrooms in the morning and not wait on the playground. Staff have found that on wet days, the children are much more settled after coming directly to the classroom and it has a positive start to the day. The gates will continue to open at 8.35 am as currently and KS2 children will go directly into their classrooms rather than to the playground. KS1 parents will continue to take their child(ren) onto the playground but instead of waiting with them, they will go directly into the classroom. Members of staff will be available if there are any messages to be passed on. The gates will continue to be closed at 8.45 am as they are currently. Emotion Coaching In a previous Weekly Update, we mentioned Emotion Coaching and thought it would be useful to explain that Emotion Coaching is a technique that manages behaviours by understanding emotional responses.

Anti-Bullying Week Monday 14 November marks the beginning of Antibullying Week and to acknowledge this, children are invited to come to school in odd socks. It's a great way to celebrate what makes us all unique in AntiBullying Week! The theme for this year’s Anti-Bullying Week is ‘Reach Out’ and there will be activities about this in the classroom throughout the week. Parent Workshops Thank you for the responses to our survey on parent workshops that we were considering running. The results were positive and we are now putting in place a programme of half termly events starting next half term. There was one suggestion was to hold workshops on other subjects such as first aid, SEN in schools for non SEN children parents and behavioural techniques training. As a result, we will be including a programme of other workshops not just wellbeing. There may be a small cost involved for some of these workshops.
