Parents Forum Thank you to the Class Representatives for joining Mrs Parkinson at the Parent Forum. Feedback and suggestions were passed on to Mrs Parkinson from the different classes and productive discussions took place. You spoke, we listened and where possible, we took action. The following items were discussed at the meeting and the resulting actions/comments are shown below in blue: • The restriction of 1 parent per family to Christmas
performances - the reps asked if it would be possible to enable both parent/carers to attend Mrs Parkinson agreed to look at a solution to allow both parents/carers to attend. There will now be 2 performances per class - please see page 3 of the newsletter for full details. • The exterior of school looking ‘tired’ such as
fencing, facias and the grounds as well as the adventure trails being unusable Mrs Parkinson explained that the materials have been ordered to repair the adventure trails but that there has been a supply issue with the wood and we are still waiting for the delivery. A number of the items raised are already being dealt with but Mrs Parkinson and Mr Finch will assess the grounds and put together a maintenance action plan, however, much of the

work is not really possible or appropriate at this time of year; cleaning fascia boards, jet washing, re-painting the fencing etc- as this can only be done in dry weather. To kickstart the work when the weather improves, we will ask for volunteers from the school community to help and will build a plan accordingly. If you would be interested in helping the Grounds Improvement Group, please do let us know. • Concern was expressed that non-uniform days
took place almost exclusively on Fridays and that children with PE on Fridays were not able to take full advantage of wearing non-uniform. Mrs Parkinson agreed to look at alternative days for non-uniform and to redistribute the days that children had PE in each class. • The reason for felling the tree on the school
boundary was asked. School had commissioned a Tree Survey, as we have a legal duty to do this, and it identified that the tree was rotten and in danger of falling. We had no option but to fell it. Two-way communication is so important so please do speak to your Class Representative if you have anything that you would like them to bring to the next meeting. We can’t always promise to change things but we will always listen. If anyone in Reception class would like to become the Class Representative, please do get in touch.
