Unique Individuals Learning Together Mrs. Quigley’s weekly message:
PFA Nonuniform day £1 contribution
Happy Half Term! This half term has flown by and it only feels like a moment ago since we returned after the Christmas break. This half term has been filled with wonderful moments, this week in particular.
This week we have focused on our mental health and wellbeing as part of Children’s Mental Health Week. All week the children have taken part in activities linked to belonging as well as how we can help keep us mentally and emotionally well. The week started with a visit from the Schools Link Mental Health Team who worked with Reception and Year 13 delivering workshops. They also hosted a parents workshop which received positive feedback. Mrs Oakes will be organising further workshops in the future which may be of help to you.
Today has been a highlight with our Rock Kidz day. The hall has been transformed into a rock concert throughout the day, with classes taking part in a workshop around Kindness, followed by a whole school rock concert. I think this has definitely been the highlight of the school year so far for many of the children.
Next half term, we have our class showcases please see the dates for the diary as advance notice of your child’s class performance. These are always lovely events to have a glimpse into a unit of learning through a focus on performance, singing and dance.
On the next few pages are some details from our PFA please do take a look as advance notice for dates and up and coming events. If you can, please spare a moment to share your ideas with them, via their survey.
Finally, as we move through the year, many of our families will be observing important traditions this half term. Some will be celebrating Ramadan, a month of reflection, kindness and coming together with loved ones. Others will be entering the period of Lent, a time for thoughtfulness, giving and preparing for Easter. These moments offer wonderful opportunities for children to learn about different cultures and beliefs within our school community and to appreciate the many ways people show care, gratitude and generosity. We wish all our families marking Ramadan or beginning Lent a joyful and meaningful time together. We hope these days be filled with peace, reflection and special moments with loved ones.
Have a wonderful half term - I will look forward to seeing you all on Monday 23 February, when gates open at 8:35 am. Mrs Quigley
The Picture News topic for next week is …
‘Do gladiators make good role models’
A new series of the television programme, Gladiators, has recently returned to screens. The show features athletes competing in physical challenges such as strength, speed, and endurance events. The show is broadcast on the BBC and has attracted large audiences, including families and children. Gladiators train for many years to compete at a high level and often speak about discipline, teamwork and preparation.
Things to talk about at home:
Do you watch gladiators at home, or are there other TV programmes you enjoy watching together as a family? What do you think makes someone on TV a good role model?
What skills or qualities do you believe are most important in a role model?
Share and talk about some of the people you look up to at home, and explain why you admire them

Innov8 Team Request
Our Innov8 team having been working hard to create career information opportunities for the children in our school. They have created a detailed questionnaire which has helped us discover the interests and career paths that excite the pupils in our school. We have found out children are most keen to hear the roles, responsibilities and tasks that can help you be a teacher, athlete, police officer, scientist or performer/singer.
We would be keen to hear from anyone who has an insight into the above! Over the next few months, we will be releasing some of the other
Today Park Road was transformed into a rock concert by Johnathan and Rebecca from Rock Kidz. Throughout the day, children took part in workshops around kindness, followed by a whole school after party to end the day.
The children were so enthusiastic and everyone was keen for them to return again! The costumes and outfits were amazing everyone definitely showed off their inner rock star!
