To listen carefully and know why this is important. To engage during story time and answer who, what, where questions and begin to answer why. To retell stories using Talk for Writing. To use developing phonological awareness to read letters and begin to blend them into words for reading and writing.

To observe changes in the seasons Autumn to Winter and talk about them. To talk about their own families and pets. To talk about their own past/future experiences. To explore and talk about the natural world. To recognise different beliefs and cultures of others.

Understanding the World

Maths

. To learn a range of songs and use movement to accompany them. To explore instruments, sound and use them to create music. To use a range of craft and art media to create for themselves with the support of an adult if required. To engage in imaginative play with others during role and small world play. Computing

Physical Development

To develop in ability to manage dressing. To use a range of tools competently. To revise and refine fundamental movements. To hold and use media for writing and painting using a tripod grip and with their dominant hand.

To count accurately objects, actions and sound. To match the numeral to counted objects, actions or sounds. To Link the numeral to it’s value. To order numerals and amounts. To manipulate shapes to create images and patterns.

Expressive Art and Design

Learn how to operate simple equipment eg. CD player and walkie talkies. Understand that information can be retrieved computers. Use ICT to interact with age appropriate software.

To develop . relationships with peers and adults. To manage their own belongings and personal hygiene. To select and use resources independently. To persevere to meet their own goals.
