Edition No 19 21/22 February 2022 Thank you to those pupils and staff that are continuing to wear face masks in communal areas, many of you are still doing this and you are welcome to continue. Case numbers in pupils have dramatically reduced, however, staffing levels are still affected. At the academy we have maintained most additional measures and will review again for after the half term break, i.e.:-
A broad arrival window in the mornings Hand sanitising on entry Twice weekly testing for staff and KS3 pupils (KS2 pupils may also do this with parental consent but we are not able to supply test kits unfortunately) Resources in classrooms for cleaning shared resources Windows opened in between lessons for additional ventilation Enhanced daily cleaning CO2 monitoring of classrooms Staggered break and lunchtimes One way systems No classes are currently required to complete daily testing due to numbers in classes they may have been in close contact with, but we monitor this situation daily and will write to inform you if this is recommended for your child's class. Year 8 Families Event Wednesday 16th February With the relaxation of restrictions, we are delighted to invite our year 8 families for a talk and tour around college site. All Year 8 Selwood and Avanti families are welcome at 4.30pm in the Merlin Theatre, whilst Oakfield are invited to attend at 6pm. There is no need to book for this event and this will be a chance to meet the senior leadership team and visit our beautiful site and ask questions about the options process. Please note that the original deadline for the options choices to be complete has been extended until the 18th February.
