English: In English, we are using a range of books linked to the Monarchy. We will use the texts to develop our writing skills. We will focus on spelling, grammar and punctuation this half term. The children will create their own story based in London using their history learning to support them.
Science: In science this half term we will have some very special visitors! We will recap our topic of ‘life cycles’ whilst creating a butterfly diary from observing the butterflies in our classroom.
Maths: In Maths this half term, we will be learning about time, charts and diagrams and directions. We will begin by learning to tell the time to the nearest 5 minutes. After that we will begin creating different ways to show data. Finally we will revisit some of the topics from the year ready for next year.
Year 2 Half-term 6: ‘Meet the Royals’ Art & Design: In Art this term we will be looking at the architecture of London. We will focus on the iconic London landmarks and their purpose. We will begin to create our own models of a London landmark and turn our classroom into a showcase representing London.
PE: In PE this half term we have 2 sessions of PE lead by our PE Coach and Miss Gwynne. We are focussing on the 7 fundamental skills and putting these into games. This half term we also have the opportunity to take part in a weekly dance session with a coach to supplement our normal PE lesson.
