Decimals:

• Identify the value of each digit in numbers given to three decimal places • Multiply and divide numbers by 10, 100 and 1000 given answers up to three decimal places • Multiply one-digit numbers with up to two decimal places by whole numbers • Use written division methods in cases where the answer has up to two decimal places • Solve problems which require answers to be rounded to specific degrees of accuracy

English: In English, we will be exploring the sinking of the titanic and writing a debate/ balanced argument about the sinking of the ship. We will also be reading the titanic detective agency which unravels the mystery onboard and from this we will create our own survival/ adventure stories.

Year 6 Spring 1: ‘Survival ’ Science: In Science, we will be looking at adaption where we will: • Recognise that living things produce offspring of the same kind, but normally offspring vary and are not identical to their parents. • Recognise that living things have changed over time and that fossils provide information about living things that inhabited the Earth millions of years ago.

Geography: In Geography, we will be locating the world’s cold climate countries. We will use maps to focus on their environmental regions, key physical and human characteristics, countries, and major cities , identifying the position and significance of latitude, longitude, Equator, Northern Hemisphere, Southern Hemisphere, the Tropics of Cancer and Capricorn, Arctic and Antarctic Circle, the Prime/Greenwich Meridian and time zones (including day and night.
