English: This half term we will be looking at 'World War 1'. We will be reading the wonderfully written books 'Private peaceful' and 'Armistice runner', which will give us an insight into the lives of soldiers during their time in the war and how it changed their lives. We will be writing poems and stories about their lives and the events that happened during the war.
Year 6 Half-term 2: ‘The Great War ’ Science: In Science, we will be looking at Living Things and their habitats. We will describe how living things are classified into broad groups according to common observable characteristics, based on similarities and differences, including micro- organisms, plants and animals and give reasons for classifying plants and animals based on specific characteristics.
Geography: We will be using maps, atlases, globes and digital/computer mapping to locate countries, focusing on Europe and Britain to research WW1. We will look at the question How did the war affect the human geography, land use, economic activity?
