History: This half term in history we will be focusing on the ancient Mayan and Aztec civilisations. Discovering what life was like, their Gods and their lasting effect on history.
Year 5 Spring 2/Half-term 4: ‘Space, Biomes, Earthquakes and Volcanoes ’ English: This half term we will be looking at Science Fiction. We shall be reading Time Spinners by Roy Apps. We shall be comparing these with short science fiction clips from television. We shall be building our knowledge to write our own science fiction stories for a purpose audience.
Additionally, we shall be writing our own information booklets, linking to one of our Science topics, space. Geography: In Geography we shall be describing at the earth Biomes. How many there are and why they are important to the plants and animals within. Furthermore, we shall be looking at Climate zones, Vegetation belts, Earthquakes and Volcanoes.
Science: This term we will be focusing on Space and Animals Including Humans. • The Space topic will be centred around our Solar System and the Earth and the Moon. For example, the size and surface temperature of the planets. • The Animals Including Humans topic will be based around the Human Life Cycle.
