We will look at what life was like for the citizens and how their culture grew. We will also investigate their significant battles, art, the Olympics and their culture.
English: In English this half-term, we shall be looking at stories from other cultures, particularly focusing on the book called Journey in the River Sea. The aim is to write our own stories with the setting based in a Rainforest. Furthermore, we shall also be looking at debates.
Year 5 Summer 1: ‘Ancient Greece’ Geography: We shall recap eight points of a compass, four and six-figure grid references, symbols and key (including the use of Ordnance Survey maps) to build their knowledge of the United Kingdom and China. Furthermore, Use maps, atlases, globes and digital/computer mapping to locate countries and describe features studied.
Science: This term we will be focusing and investigating animals and living things. We will be looking into different habitats, environmental changes and the different classifications of animals. As well as investigating how humans change as they get older.
