History: Following on from our History
topic in Autumn 1, we will build on the impact of the Anglo Saxons in Britain. We will also jump ahead 200 years to the year 789AD and the start of the Viking invasion right through to the Battle of Hastings 1066AD.
English: This half term we will be
looking at improving our persuasive writing. We will also be reading the epic legend of Beowulf. Geography: We will be identifying villages and towns in England in the Anglo Saxon era. Investigating the reason why villages were built where they were and the importance of natural resources to the settlers. We will also study regions in Scandinavia and how they relocated to Britain.
Year 5 Half-term 2: ‘Anglo Saxons & Vikings’ Science: We will continue our space science topic, but will additionally be investigating different forces and their effects.
