Maths: This half term we will start looking at mass and capacity, using grams, kilograms, litres and millilitres. We will then continue to build on our fractions learning from spring 2. Finally we will look at adding and subtracting amounts of money and learn how to and find correct change.
English: The text that we will continue to analyse ‘The Iron Man’ by Ted Hughes and create our own diaries based on what might happen next. We will then look at ‘The Stig of the Dump’ by Clive King and will use this text to explore character descriptions and create our own story linked back to our learning on the Stone Age.
Year 3 Half Term 5/Summer 1: The Romans
RE: The question that we will be considering this half term is “Why are Gurus important to Sikhs?”. We will explore Sikhism and look at how the ten Gurus shaped the religion.
Science: This half term in science we will be exploring plants. We will investigate how plants grow, reproduce and learn about the stages of their life cycle from pollination to germination.
PE: Physical Education will be lead by our sport partners at West Lancashire Sports Partnership. P.E. will be on Wednesdays and Thursdays. We will focus on Athletics and striking and fielding games. Computing: In computing this half term we will be looking at branching databases which use yes and no questions to generate answers. We will even be having a go testing each others and suggesting improvements in the coding.
