Maths: Fractions Continuing to re-capping ½, 1/3 and ¼. As well as tenths as decimals and equivalent fractions. We shall also be comparing fractions and ordering fractions. Time We shall attempt to be able to tell to the nearest 5 minutes and then to the nearest minute. Furthermore, using the 24hr clock and comparing durations of time.
RE: In RE will be looking at Sikhism. We shall be looking at the question ‘Why are the Guru’s important to the Sikhs?’ Concentrating on their beliefs, what they celebrate, what a Guru is and what is their role/job.
English: This half term we will be reading ‘The Stig of the Dump by Clive King. The children will be writing their own stories based on the layout of part of the story, whilst changing characters and settings.
Year 3 Half Term 5/Summer 1: Science: In Science, we continue to look at light, with the focus question being ‘What is a Shadow?’ Also, beginning to look at plants. The following ‘What do different parts of a plant do?
PE: In PE this half term we have 2 sessions of PE lead by our PE CoachMr Winrow and Mr Iddon. Mr Winrow will be focusing on Striking fielding sills in a variety of sports.
Computing: In computing, we will be using Purple Mash to look at Emails and Touch typing. Using examples of emails to send to teach other in the lessons. Using the appropriate features.
