English: In English, this half term we will be focusing on the text “ Muddle Puddle Farm”. We will use this text to write our own animal adventure stories and leaflets for a farm.
Maths: In Maths this half term, we will be continuing with Multiplication and Division and then we will start our learning on measurement. In addition to our maths lessons, we are also going to be working on learning the 2x, 5x and 10x table.
We will also look at “The big Book of Riddles”. Using our farm knowledge, we will create our own riddle about a farm shop.
Science: Our science unit this half term Is called ‘Use of Everyday Materials’. We will be looking at ships and how they float, the strength of different materials, changing materials and materials in history.
Year 2 Half-term 4: ‘Explorers’ Design Technology: In DT this term our unit of work is called mechanisms and our focus is wheels and axles. We will design and make a vehicle that you would find on a farm!
PE: In PE this half term we have 2 sessions of PE. We will continue to work on our 7 fundamental skills.
