Maths: Place Value (within 20) Count forward and backwards to 20, Numbers from 11-20, Tens and Ones, Count one more one less, compare and order numbers Addition and Subtraction (within 20) Add by counting on, adding ones using number bonds, find and make number bonds, add by making 10, subtraction crossing and not crossing 10. Shape: Naming 3D shapes. RE: In RE will be looking at Islam and we will be answering the question, ‘How might beliefs about creation affect the way people treat the world?’
English: This half term we will be enjoying a range of traditional tales with a particular focus on Little Red Riding Hood. The children will be writing their own innovated story based on Little Red Riding Hood. We also be writing a recount on an event, giving details of a memorable event.
Year 1 Half Spring 1: ‘Family Album’
PE: In PE this half term we have 1 session of PE lead by Mrs Wilson on Tuesday and 1 session with our PE Coach on Friday. We are learning the 7 fundamental skills.
Science: In Science, we will be continuing our work on animals. We will be classifying animals and looking at the difference between omnivores, herbivores and carnivores. We will look at the human body and name body parts.
