Choose and complete at least 6 activities over the course of the half-term. Hand in through Seesaw or bring into school. Each piece will be worth 1-10 house points. Create a survival guide, which could be used to help during a natural disaster. Be creative!
Investigate one of these survivors:
Create a travel brochure for a new travel company which arranges visits to the Arctic or Antarctic
Create a time line of Shackleton’s journey across the Atlantic. Be as creative as you can.
Create a model of the ship ‘Endurance’ which was the ship that Shackleton and his crew travelled on. Research about the ship and then have a go at recreating it using clay, dough, Lego, recycled materials etc.
Make a model of your favourite Arctic animal using clay, dough or recycled materials
Find out what natural resources and raw materials are extracted from the Arctic. What impact does this have on the environment?

Write a fact file and an explanation of why they are a survivor Create your own newspaper report detailing the safe return of Shackleton’s crew. Remember to include a headline (that features a pun, rhyme, or alliteration), an introductory paragraph containing the 5W’s and direct speech correctly punctuated. Imagine a common domestic animal became an inhabitant of the Arctic or Antarctic. How would it have to adapt the survive? Rename your common animal with a more exciting polar name.
