Literacy We will be writing speech bubbles and simple instructions. We will learn to orally sequence a story and begin to use simple story language. We will begin to write short sentences using sounds that we know using a capital letter and a full stop.
Mathematics: Number This half term we will be looking at making pairs and beginning to combine two numbers together. We will also look at comparing numbers to 10 and begin to learn our number bonds to 10. Measure, Shape and Spatial Thinking. We will revisit and build upon our knowledge of length and height. We will also build on our knowledge of shape by introducing 3D shapes and creating more complex patterns. We will also build on our understanding of time by looking at how we have changed over time and the days of the week.
Personal Social and Emotional Development This half term we are going to be talking about factors which effect our health and wellbeing, such as healthy eating and physical activity. We will also be highlighting the importance of eating a balanced diet, including eating plenty of fruit and vegetables.
Reception – Spring 2 We Could Be Heroes Phonics We will continue our Phase 3 phonics. We will continue blend our sounds into short words which use sounds that we know. We will begin to learn some Phase 3 Tricky Words.
Communication and Language This half term, we will be using our language to help us work out solutions to problems and organise our thinking. We will listen to, talk about and retell stories and build upon new vocabulary which we can use in different contexts.
