elcome back to the new school year. I hope everyone has now settled into their new classes and the school routine.
I’d just like to say a quick thank you to everyone for making me feel so welcome – it’s been lovely saying hello to all of you at the gate. The staff and I would like to welcome the following children and their families to our school: Maggie, Marcus, Isla, Nathan, Skylar, Scarlett, Ivy, Oscar, Buddy, Evie-Rose, Edith, Teddy, Callie, Hetty, Jessica and Bronti. I would also like to welcome Maternity Cover Teacher Mrs Peachey-Smith to Class 2.
After School Clubs, Activities and visitors in school I am really pleased to be able to tell you that finally we have been able to re-start our full range of in school sporting activities, matches, afterschool clubs and curriculum enrichment. From our usual afterschool Sports Club and matches, to in school curriculum Ukulele lessons for Class 3. Rocksteady, Choir Club and Upper Key Stage 2 Swimming Lessons. As almost all correspondence with you has moved online. Please remember to let us know as soon as you can if you change your email address.
Text Messaging Service We will continue to use the texting service this year, so please ensure you always keep Mrs Webb updated if you change your mobile number at any time.
Term Dates
Next Wednesday, we will be holding our Term 1 ‘Meet the Teacher’ meetings. These will be virtual, using Zoom. Your child’s class teacher will be sending an email out with the zoom link and password. Please note, the Class One meeting will be a chance for parents to ask any questions, seeing as parents have already had meetings with Mrs Bax about the year ahead. You will find this Academic Years Term Dates on our website. The dates for future academic years can be found by moving forward through the calendar. You will find details of your child’s Class activities etc on their termly class newsletter, these are sent to you by email at the start of each term and can also be found on our website.

Our Harvest Festival will take place at St Mary Magdalene Church, Monkton on Wednesday 6th October at 9.30am. As it is still quite early for gatherings we have decided that this service will be for children only. We will be filling our traditional decorated Harvest Bags. You will have received a letter detailing what to fill your child’s Harvest Bag and the date for it’s return. We thank you in advance for your generosity in donating tinned and dried good to our local Food Bank which is in Birchington.
