COURAGE COMMITMENT COMPASSION

Dear Parent/Carer, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for all of your support this term. The Courage, Commitment, and Compassion shown by many community members has been commendable. We are proud to share this newsletter with you, highlighting many fantastic achievements and activities that have taken place this term. I would also like to thank all parents who completed the survey and attended the Headteacher Question and Answer Session last week. It was a privilege to meet with parents, discuss points raised in the survey and formulate actions to support our journey of school improvement. I will continue to enhance our interactions over the following term and look forward to introducing Parent Coffee Mornings, an informal opportunity to see the school in action and discuss our programme. The first will be held on Friday 13th May at 9 am. We will circulate a Sign-Up form at the beginning of next term as spaces will be limited. From 1st April, routine COVID-19 testing will no longer be expected in all education and children's social care settings. This is part of the Government's plan to remove remaining restrictions on society while protecting the most vulnerable from COVID-19. Anyone with a positive COVID-19 test result will be advised to stay at home and avoid contact with other people for five days, which is when they are most infectious. For children and young people aged 18 and under, the Government's advice is to isolate for three days. Twelve to fifteen-year-olds will be able to access the vaccine at a Vaccination Centre, Pharmacy or Walk-In Centre. Parents can book a Covid-19 vaccination appointment online, speak to their GP or call 119. We will continue to review our Risk Assessment, local COVID-19 data and ensure to take any action necessary to protect our community. Uniform Following the holiday, coats will no longer be worn in classrooms. The school jumper is optional, but the school blazer is compulsory; blazers can be removed with the teacher's permission. Ties and headscarves can be purchased via Parentpay and picked up in school. Communication with school We are looking to enhance our communication with parents and develop the functions of the school app. Therefore, we recommend downloading and registering on MyEd if you haven't done so already. You can access it through this web page (https://www.myedschoolapp.com), and it will take you through the registration process. Holiday Activities Newham Council works with a range of organisations and schools to offer free places at Holiday Clubs during the two-week break. There is something for everyone! Sport, drama, cooking, music, arts & crafts, dance, fun day trips, and more! All clubs will also provide a delicious, healthy meal each day. Parents and other family members can also get involved in food and nutrition activities. The Easter programme and booking instructions are published here: www.newham.gov.uk/haf Newham Food Alliance (NFA) The Newham Food Alliance is an open collaboration between partners who reach thousands of residents each week with food parcels, meals and other support. I look forward to welcoming everyone back to school on Tuesday 19th April and working with you to support our students in achieving their full potential. Yours sincerely, Andrew Finn Headteacher Our Vision:
