Kirkburton Middle School Parents’ Bulletin - 16 December 2022 Keeping well this winter As we head into winter, and our children are now picking up more common infections and illnesses, the local NHS has asked us to remind you to visit the new West Yorkshire Healthier Together website which provides guidance on a wide range of common illnesses and medical conditions that affect children and young people aged between 0 -19 and for advice on when you should /shouldn’t send them to school: https://wyhealthiertogether.nhs.uk/parentscarers/child-unwell-ok-go-nurseryschool You will also find information from our partners at West Yorkshire Healthier Together, please take a look at their new website https://wyhealthiertogether.nhs.uk/ for information useful to school, parents and carers. Healthier Together was updated on Tuesday 6th Dec 2022 to reflect the current Scarlet Fever outbreak. It includes an up-to-date video from an A&E consultant hopefully reassuring parents and advising when to worry. There is also advice on the site about Should my child attend school today? if they are unwell. https://wyhealthiertogether.nhs.uk/parentscarers/worried-your-child-unwell/Group-A-StrepScarlet-Fever For further information, please contact wyicb-wak.wyhealthiertogether@nhs.net https://www.nhs.uk/live-well/is-my-child-too-ill-for-school/

Uniform Could we also remind you that the children should be coming to school wearing their school jumpers and coats during the winter. We are seeing too many outside playing in just their T shirts. If you need help in providing these or any items of uniform, please contact us or https://www.uniform-exchange.org/
