Number: Place Value – represent and partition numbers to 100, number line to 100 and 1000, hundreds, represent and partition numbers to 1000, hundreds, tens and ones, find 1, 10 or 100 more or less, estimating on a number line to 1000, compare and order numbers to 1000 and count in 50s. Number: Addition and Subtraction – Apply number bonds within 10, add and subtract 1s, 10s and 100s, spot the pattern, add and subtract 1s across a 1, add and subtract 10s across a 100, make connections, add and subtract two numbers (no exchange), add and subtract two numbers (across a 10 and a 100), add and subtract 2-digit and 3-digit numbers, subtract a 2digit number from a 3-digit number, complements to 100, estimate answers, inverse operations and make decisions. Number: Multiplication and Division – Multiplication – equal groups, use arrays, multiples of 2, 5 and 10, sharing and grouping, multiplying and dividing by 3, 4 and 8 and linking the 2, 4 and 8 times-tables together.

English Our Focus Text this Term is Stig of the Dump and Non-Fiction Texts and Books about the Stone Age. Writing instructions on how to make a stone age axe. Writing a diary entry about prehistoric living. Chronological Report – Through the Ages (Stone Age to Iron Age) Letter writing to a future person talking about prehistoric life. Cinquain poem about jobs in the prehistoric era. PE Indoor PE: Dance – Movements and Gymnastics – balancing, rolling, jumping and travelling. Outdoor PE: Football and Netball.

Time Travellers Geography and History: Exploring the Prehistory in Britain using a range of historical sources to provide an in-depth understanding of things that have happened in the past. We will be focusing on the tools and weapons used, making comparisons between everyday life then and now, exploring settlements and how they have evolved over time and looking at the beliefs that those that lived in the prehistoric time era had. RSHE Created and Loved by God – Explores the individual. Rooted in the teaching that we are made in the image and likeness of God, it helps develop an understanding of the importance of valuing themselves as the basis for personal relationships. French To be able to count to 20, have conversational basics such as saying ‘hello’ and how they are feeling and say the colours, days and months of the year in French. Science Forces and Magnets –To identify forces as push and pulls, to describe friction as a force that slows objects down, to feel the pulling force of a magnet, to sort materials according to whether they are magnetic of not, to participate in an investigation into magnet strength and to identify the different poles of a bar magnet. Light and Shadow – To identify light sources, to understand that we need light to see, to know that light travels in a straight line, to identify reflective surfaces, to know that the sun can damage their eyes, to know how to protect their eyes from the sun and to understand that a shadow is formed when a solid object blocks light.

RE Belonging: To know that Baptism is the Sacrament of Belonging to God’s Family (the Church), to identify some signs and symbols of Baptism and express their meaning, to sequence the Rite of Baptism and to discuss elements of the Celebration of Mass when we gather as the family of God. Prayer: to know that Jesus valued his relationship with God his Father in prayer, to understand that people can pray in different ways and to talk about different styles of prayer and some symbols used to help people to pray. Advent: To know the stories of the Annunciation and Visitation, to understand that both Mary and Elizabeth recognised the presence of Christ, to think about how Christian use the season of Advent as a time of preparation to welcome and recognise the presence of Christ. Christmas: To know the story of the shepherds and how they reacted to the news of Christ’s birth, to empathise with the feelings and reactions of the shepherds at this event and to know that the Crib is an important symbol of prayer and devotion. Art and Design and Design and Technology Artist Study, 3D modelling, Silhouette Art and Cave Paintings. Music Stone Age Compositions and instruments; Christmas Performance; singing and hymn practice. Computing Online Safety, utilising Google Classroom effectively and begin exploring computer programming.
