Feb_2022(1).pdfBehaviour_for_Learning_Policy__files.schudio.com/hnc/files/Policies/Allstudents are expectedto uphold our simpleABC expectations
Behaviour and conduct College provides a range of new freedoms in recognition of how you are a young adult taking the next step in life. You can expect a great deal from us as we support you during the next two years to be the very best version of you, and achieve your vision for the future. As part of this mutual trust, we have high expectations of you too. The vast majority of our students meet these expectations, every day. However, similar to employment, our polices and procedures outline the steps that will be taken in circumstances where these expectations are not met.

4 EXPECTATIONS...OUR ABC!ASSIMPLEAS Our expectations are very simple – and will come as no surprise. We expect all students to: A: Attend well You should aim for 100% attendance, and be aware that if there are any concerns regarding attendance you may trigger our Fitness to Study Policy or our Behaviour for Learning Policy. Always wear your membership badge. B: Be respectful We expect exemplary behaviour, and upholding of College values at all times - both inside and outside of the college C: Commit…to work hard and achieve your very best
5VAPING/SMOKING CAMPUSON Instagram:www.facebook.comwww.twitter.com/huddnewcoll/huddnewcollHuddnewcoll STAY IN TOUCH We share regular updates via our social media accounts. Please sign up to these: Key point to know: If you are found to be vaping in the College buildings this is considered to be gross misconduct, and you will be suspended pending a meeting with your parents/carer. Ultimately this could lead to the termination of your place.
ATTENDANCE
PUNCTUALITYAND
6 sshOUT We are proud to support the student sexual harassment OUT campaign. At College we will tackle and challenge any form of sexual harassment, in both its common and less expected forms. Every student is expected to respect and support this approach. Access the Harmful Sexual Behaviour Policy here:
We expect students to have 100% attendance. Naturally we understand that some absence may be unavoidable. As a young adult, if you are unable to attend you are expected to inform the College by 8.30am on the first day of absence, and you must keep us updated daily. You can telephone us on 01484 355105, or alternatively use the reporting absence function in the My HNC app. Attending well is not only vital to your academic success, it is also crucial in maintaining your place at College. As a non compulsory education provider, our students enrol on a full-time, Campus based education. If you know you will be absent, or for any reason you are struggling to attend, please speak to us. We have a comprehensive range of support. Any planned absences (e.g. unavoidable medical universityappointments, visits, etc)must be authorised in advance via the Student Helpdesk in the LRC. We very much hope you enjoy every minute of your time here, and are able to attend well. The Fitness to Study Policy outlines the process that will be put place if at any point you cannot engage with these attendance/ progress requirements as a result of a health condition. We ensure that every student can enjoy learning in a safe and happy environment. This includes support for students who need it too. You have a part to play in helping us do this and as part of this we expect that: - You wear your membership badge at all times. Not only does this ensure you can open the doors at College, they also ensure we can identify that you are a student, and are key in keeping you safe - You recognise that you are not allowed to bring anyone who is not a HNC student on to Campus (with the exception of events where this is authorised, e.g. a ticketed show) This will be classed as bringing an intruder on to Campus, and if you have brought them to College or deliberately given them access, it is classed as serious misconduct in the first instance, and gross misconduct in the second - To speak up if you, or any student, are in danger and/or are made to feel unsafe in College. You can report this directly to safeguarding@huddnewcoll.ac.uk or via the anonymous reporting tab on your MS Team Channel To read more about safeguarding and contacting the team, click here: https:// safeguarding-officershuddnewcoll.ac.uk/parents-carers/

Key points to note about the Dress Code Policy are: - You should not wear any clothing with slogans/images that could be deemed offensive - We do not allow particularly revealing items of clothing to be worn at College. Please remember that even if you are comfortable, this may make others feel uncomfortable - You should dress in a way that reflects that you are here to learn – for example, coats are to be removed in the classroom - You should note that College staff reserve the right to ask you to go home to change where you are dressed inappropriately, and this will be classed as unauthorised absence Read this in full here:
