PROSPERE NEWS COMMUNITY NEWSLETTER
HALF TERM 6
2021 - 2022
Dear members of our Trust community, On behalf of Trustees I would like to thank our schools for another amazing year. We know how hard and diligently everyone has worked to ensure all our students settled well and experienced a positive return to school last September. We know that throughout the year they have been well supported and able to catch-up where learning had been lost. The very high quality of the teaching and learning offer across the Trust has enabled students to enjoy school and make good and better progress in their learning and development. It has also been very clear to Trustees how the general health and well-being of students has been prioritised by our schools and staff. All schools in the Trust have ended the school year in a strong place and ready to move forward in September. In addition, at our last Board Meeting of the school year, Trustees were delighted to hear about other recent successes and want to send our congratulations and very best wishes to: •Grange School for winning the MEN Primary School of the year and the School Games Gold Award •Piper Hill for achieving their Autism Accreditation •CHS South for winning the MEN School in the Community Award and achieving the Silver One Education Reading Award •MEA for achieving the Bronze One Education Reading Award •Prospect House for having a seamless move to their new building •Pioneer House for achieving the Skills Builder Gold plus award and 100% in their Gatsby benchmarks •Chorlton High School for being finalists in TES Secondary School of the Year Award and TES School of the Year for Staff Wellbeing Award. •MEA Central for a highly successful year with their first year 11 cohort, finishing with a fabulous prom Finally we hope that you all have a good summer. Jenny Andrews, Chair of Trustees (on behalf of all Trustees)
PROSPERE PRIDE
Our schools celebrated Pride Month 2022, 50 years since the first ever Pride took place, with events and activities raising awareness of LGBTQ+ issues and continually creating a community of belonging. Parents, families, and special guests were invited to join the celebrations; Carl Austin Behan, LGBT Advisor to Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham joined the Pride event at Grange’s Imagination Village whilst the students at CHS South joined their local community at the Whalley Range Pride Festival, parading the streets with banners and dancing and singing with the band. Prospect House decorated progressive rainbow flags and made class banners for their school parade, marching along to ‘this is me’ from Greatest Showman and ‘Proud’ by Heather Small and CHS invited ‘Just Like Us’, the LGBT+ Young People’s charity to work with students. Alongside celebrations and events, our libraires displayed their LGBTQ+ collections and MEA Central students devised performances at the Lowry on identities and gender. MEA’s Pride month was recognised by Manchester Healthy Schools in their Special Commendations newsletter, “Manchester Enterprise Academy (MEA) went above and beyond simply marking this occasion and brought Pride Month to life through a vibrant whole school agenda, focusing on inclusivity and positive visibility at every level within the school community.” Our Pride celebrations are still ongoing with schools holding events until the last week of term!
