Behaviour Curriculum Update
Zones of Regulation:
In lesson 10, we tied together the most important parts of the Zones of Regulation curriculum into 5 steps to follow in order to regulate in different situations. Children learned to follow the Zones Pathway by: noticing the situation they find themselves in, including identifying triggers and sparks; checking in to find out what zone they are in; deciding if they need to regulate by using Stop, Opt, Go; Choosing a regulation tool, if appropriate; reflecting on if the regulation is working.
See Lesson 10 HERE
Christmas Performance Costumes: 18th December
No costumes necessary! Children must wear smart ‘Christmas Party Dress’ (no football shirts). Pupils come into school on the 18th December wearing it, and perform in it, for you, from 1pm onwards. Pupils must be bare feet for the Performance, so no tights etc.
Non-Uniform: 19th December
Children can wear whatever they like, including Christmas theme if they wish. There will be the traditional FOES Best Dressed Competition we have every Christmas in the afternoon.
Christmas Post-Box
Children can post Christmas cards to their friends (name and class on envelopes) via the Christmas Post-box. Available from W/C: 8th December.

Bryon Highlights:
This week in Byron Class, we have enjoyed the story Mr Gumpy’s Outing. We retold the story in our own words with actions. We also made our own boats and tested them in the water to make sure they floated.
Yarlett Highlights:
This week in Yarlett Class we have started our new topic in music learning about tempo and learning how songs can feel fast or slow. In English we have worked hard on using punctuation especially question marks, and exclamation marks to make our sentences clear and expressive and the children enjoyed practising them in their own writing. A great week of progress!
Blabey Highlights:
In Blabey Class this week, we have learned about the beliefs of the ancient Egyptians. We discovered how they believe in hundreds of gods who control a feature of the world, and learned about their views on death. We even took part in a mummification, to see how pharaoh's bodies were prepared for the afterlife!
Morpurgo Highlights:
This week, Morpurgo Class have thrown themselves into the world of Room 13, using rich description to hook and intrigue the reader. The children have worked incredibly hard to build suspense, choose powerful vocabulary, and craft vivid scenes that keep you turning the page After completing their first drafts, all children showed excellent focus during editing and revising sessions, by improving word choices and polishing their work, to publication standard. They should be proud of their commitment to the writing process!
