Toys/Personal Items from Home (Including Bag Decorations)

A couple of times a year we politely remind parents that children should not be bringing in toys/personal items from home to school unless it has been requested by, or agreed by either a) the class Teacher or b) the school SENCO because it is to support an identified special educational need. Managing children’s emotions because they are not able to play with personal items from home during lesson time is an avoidable trigger. Please support the school by supporting us with this.

Keyrings and other bag decorations appear to be a growing trend – towards the end of last year and this year. It is important you understand our position on this. It is a parental decision whether you allow your child to have them – on their bag only.

The school accepts no responsibility for lost, stolen, or damaged items.

Thank you in advance for your support on this.

FOES Bake Sale: Morpurgo Donations

Thank You to FOES for getting back into the swing of things with their periodic Bake Sales. And thank you to Morpurgo class for their kind donations. Lovely to see so many attending and supporting FOES, including from some of our lovely new families.

Every penny raised goes back into the pot to support our young people in some shape or form. Thank You.

Bryon Highlights:

This week in Bryon Class, the children really enjoyed our walk around the school grounds, noticing lots of details and using the iPads to take photos of what they observed. They spotted a wide range of natural and man-made features, including autumnal leaves, dandelion seed heads, patterns in brick walls, and different shapes on the playground.

Yarlett Highlights:

Our science lesson was one of our highlights of the week, as we started learning about the bones and muscles in the human body. It was lovely to see combinations of children in Y1 and Y2 working so cooperatively and supportively to arrange and discuss different bones within a human skeleton. After our science lesson, we enjoyed listening to a Funnybones story. Stories have featured in our class this week as we finished our work on The Squirrels who Squabbled and drew our own story mountains for the BBC 500 words story competition.

Blabey Highlights:

In Blabey Class this week, we have loved learning about the changes in Britain from the Stone Age to the Bronze Age, and discovering the many myths and theories about the history of Stonehenge! In art, we have used line to make 2D drawings of our hands appear 3D, while in Science we have learned all about the digestive system and what happens to food after we eat it!

Morpurgo Highlights:

This week, Morpurgo Class took part in an exciting BBC Live Lesson which focused on the art of story writing. The workshop explored how to create unique characters and imaginative settings, to engage a reader. Equipped with this new knowledge, the children began writing their own stories, filled with mysterious creatures. It was a fantastic opportunity to learn from professional writers and bring ideas to life, through words.
