English: We will begin the half term exploring a variety of Norse myths through our reading lessons. We will be focusing on narrative writing and using one of the myths we have explore to write an alternative ending. We will then look at formal letter writing in preparation for writing a letter to our Year 4 teacher. Our SPAG focus will be recapping writing dialogue and using the correct punctuation as well as adverbials of time and place. We will also continue to develop our comprehension skills through our reading lessons. Science: In our Science lessons , we will be looking at health and movement. We will explore how humans and some other animals have skeletons and muscles to help their bodies move and investigate how our bones grow with age.
Year 3 Summer 2 The Vikings Geography: This area of the curriculum has been covered in previous terms this year.
PE: Working each week with WLSP, the children will learn about invasion games. Teachers will be teaching striking and fielding activities.
Maths: Time: We will tell the time to the nearest 5 minutes on an analogue clock, understand time on a digital clock and explore duration of time. We will also focus on the number of days in each month and how many days and months there are in a year. Shape: We will focus on angles and angles in shapes as well as looking at the properties of 2D and 3D shapes. Statistics: We will explore how data can be represented in different ways including pictograms and bar charts.
