Churchtown Chatter Imagine … Believe … Achieve… Newsletter 7 – 2022
The children have had a great end to the half term. The school was full of colour with all children in fancy dress or mufti clothes, raising money for the PTA. Year 5 children were dressed in ‘Harry Potter’ theme and enjoyed taking part in quizzes and quidditch to celebrate the day. The noise from the quidditch matches filled the whole of Churchtown village! Celebration assembly was full of achievements from children earning bronze awards, awarding poetry competition winners and recognising all those children who have lived up to the value of Respect during this half term, with a child from each year group being selected as overall winners. All children share in the celebration of these achievements. Over the half term, the middle part of the playground is being changed. The wooden area is being taken out due to it not being fit for purpose anymore. This will be replaced with tarmac and the picnic benches will be moved to this area, giving space for children to colour during breaktimes. We look forward to inviting you in after half term to discuss how your child has settled into their new year group and discuss their engagement and involvement in lessons at Parents Evening. There is further information included in the newsletter about this. Have a restful and safe half term and look forward to seeing you on Monday 31st October. Mrs Payne
