Churchtown Chatter

A message from the Headteacher:

It has certainly been a busy week in school with lots going on! Year 5 Alder class enjoyed an exciting STEM Day at Stanley High School and Flourish class had a fantastic visit to Greenbank High School to watch their production of Shrek the Musical.

Across the school, classes have also taken part in activities to mark Safer Internet Day and Children’s Mental Health Week, helping our pupils to understand how to stay safe online and look after their wellbeing.

A huge thank you to our School Council for their organisation and creativity in preparing for Thursday’s Cake & Craft Sale The crafts they made were fantastic, and we are so grateful to everyone who donated cakes and came along to support the event. We were delighted with the turnout and incredibly proud of the community spirit shown, together we raised a wonderful amount for our chosen charities.

Good luck to our Melody Makers who are performing at Co-op Live tonight as part of Young Voices. We all loved hearing your sneak peek performance on the stage before school on Thursday. We know you will represent our school brilliantly.

Well done as well to our talented performers who took part in the Meols Cop Dance Festival, the show was absolutely brilliant

Have a wonderful half term break, we look forward to welcoming everyone back refreshed and ready for another exciting term ahead.

Love My CommunityA BIG THANKYOU

A huge thank you to everyone who supported our School Council Cake and Craft Sale. We are so grateful for all the generous donations and enthusiastic support from our wonderful school community.

Special thanks go to our fantastic School Council, who worked so hard organising the event and creating beautiful craft items to sell. Your dedication and teamwork truly made the day such a success.

A big well done as well to our wonderful Melody Makers, who sang beautifully on the playground in the morning and helped raise additional donations to add to the total. You brought such joy and community spirit to the start of our day! Thank you to all our children, staff, parents and carers for donating and buying cakes, crafts and supporting Mufti Day, your kindness and generosity made a real difference.

We are incredibly proud to share that together we raised an amazing:

£1014 for three very special charities: Alice's WonderDance

Bebe's Hive

Elsie's Story

It truly was an all-round wonderful couple of days, full of kindness, generosity and community spirit. We are so proud of our school community! Thank you again to everyone who helped make it such a success.

Meols Cop Dance Festival

RSPB Big School Birdwatch

Thank you to all who came on the RSPB birdwatch. We had 35 adults and children who braved the rain to help the RSPB understand how birds are doing in the UK. Our biggest find was a maximum 11 black-headed gulls at one time, followed by wood pigeons at 7. We also saw some robins, crows, blue tits, magpies and blackbirds.

Well done to all the incredible runners who took part in the Mad Dog 10K and Crazy Pups Race last weekend in support of Alice’s WonderDance!

Your energy, determination and community spirit made it such a special event. Thanks to your amazing efforts, the JustGiving page now stands at an incredible £11,887 and is still open for donations.
