Year 5 in particular have had a fantastic week this week. On Tuesday, the majority of children chose to go to the Young Voices concert at Manchester AO arena. Young Voices has been running for 25 years and is the largest children’s choir concert in the world. Children learn set songs to then perform with hundreds of other schools at arenas around the country. This is the first year we have taken part and due to the resounding success of the visit it will be firmly planted in the school calendar for a year group to attend annually. This year the acts that children saw and performed alongside included Heather Small, The Beatbox Collective (2015 World Champions), Anne Phoebe (Violinist/Composer/Producer) and Urban Strides (Street Dance Specialists who have previously opened the Royal Variety Performance). Parents were able to buy tickets to attend the event and the feedback has been really positive. This feedback has carried on in the same way from children and staff alike. I personally went along to experience the newly introduced educational visit for Year 5 and reaped the benefits! I was so proud of the children’s behaviour throughout the 12-hour day but to see their faces experiencing the concert, hear them sing with the choir and move to the music will be a memory placed firmly in the school memory box! Congratulations to all involved, it was a great day!

BUDDY ASSEMBLY GROUPS Each week in the ‘Friday Praise Assembly’ we have been checking the totals of the Buddy assembly groups. Classes and children gain points for super behaviour.
