Friends of BRGS A newsletter produced by BRGS for former students, parents & the community

Calling all BRGS Olympic and World Champions Inspired by the Tokyo Olympics and top-level sport? Competing with the best? BRGS would like to draw together all the names of our elite sporting representatives to ensure that they have all been recognised on our international honours’ boards. Already on the international merit boards are Kristan Bromley, former Winter Olympian and skeleton bob world champion, and in the spotlight in Tokyo is former sixth form student Keira Walsh who is part of the Team GB football squad. Other recent additions to the honour boards have included Mollie Campbell who is in the GB national team for basketball and Jess Leyden who has sadly missed out on the Tokyo Olympics. Jess who is now 26 years old, is one of Britain’s most promising rowers and she won world championship gold at both junior and under-23 level. Jess helped to qualify the women’s quad for the Tokyo Olympics but sadly had to withdraw due to recovery from Covid-19. Watch this space for Paris in three years’ time! Do get in touch if you know of BRGS students who have excelled in their sporting careers.
