Wendy Holden.
Chair and Safeguarding/SEND Governor I have lived in Bredbury for the past 19 years and am a full time mum of 5 children aged between 9 and 25 years old. My youngest child currently attends Bredbury Green Primary School. All of my children have attended Bredbury Green and have loved their time here. From a young age, I was a carer for both of my disabled parents. This gave me an understanding of the challenges they faced on a daily basis as well as the challenges of caring for them whilst attending school myself. I have worked as a secretary/personal assistant, and have experience in accounts, customer liaison, organisational skills, job allocating, reception duties. Being at home full time has meant I am able to attend various school events and activities as well as getting involved with the PTA. As a result, I have met and got to know many people within Bredbury Green and the local community. I have also gained a greater knowledge of education and the curriculum, both in primary and secondary school. Becoming a Parent Governor in 2020 gave me the opportunity to play a greater part within the school community. I have witnessed many changes over the years- particularly the challenges faced by the whole community during the times of Covid-19! My belief is that every child should be be given the best education, feel safe and enjoy being at school. As such, I am committed to supporting the whole school community so that all Bredbury Green children are given the opportunity to succeed.
