Snack Toast continues as normal this year. 20p a day for toast during break.
Curriculum this half term Our main theme this term is ‘There’s no place like home’ which is going to run through our lessons. Maths- This term we are focussing on number and place value of numbers up to 1000. The children will learn how to read, write, compare and order numbers to 1000 as well as adding 3 and 4-digit numbers. English- We are beginning the term by focussing on ‘The Old Woman who Lived in a Vinegar Bottle’. A classic Folk tale where the children are going to explore a sequence of events, using inverted commas in their writing and prepositions for where in sentences. By the end of the unit the children will create their very own Folk Tale. Science- this term we are focussing on Animals Including Humans. The children will explore the nutrients animals and humans need for survival. We are also going to identify the muscles we need to support our skeleton. Theme- Geography- Following our ‘There’s no place like home’ the children will be able to name and locate countries and cities within the UK and understand how to use an Atlas, interpret maps and use the 8 points of a compass. RE- This term the children will be starting by understanding what it means to be called by God. By exploring Prophets stories, we will know what jobs they had to undertake, and the messages passed by God.
PE Our PE days are Monday & Wednesday this year. Please ensure PE kits are in on those days and all jewellery is removed or covered up with a plaster. Reading We continue to use Bug Club this year to monitor your child’s reading. We will also be sending books how with a reading record, this will begin in the coming weeks.
