Spring one Knowledge Organiser Giraffes 2023
English- Rock and Roll To start the term off we are going to be learning about narratives based on a theme. We are going to be reading ‘Stone Age Boy’ by Satoshi Kitamura. The children will be learning how to use prepositions in full sentences and how to form speech for dialogues in their own stories.
Maths In class we are focussing on written methods for multiplication and division then we will be going into length and mass using different equipment the children can use to measure in CM, MM and Ml.
Science- Rocks To follow our theme, we are going to be exploring rocks. The different types of rocks and their textures, the children will be putting the rocks into different groups based on their appearance and physical properties.
Theme- From Stone to Steel Our theme across the spring term is looking at The Stone Age to The Iron Age. The children will be exploring and researching 3 time periods across the Pre-historic era. Please see our knowledge organiser for theme. There are theme links across the curriculum, art and design, design technology, science and English.
RE- Jesus the man who changed lives The children will be looking into the impact had/has on peoples lives. We will be comparing how Jesus changed lives many years ago and how lived are changed today and in what ways he is around us.
