Headteacher Update Friday 23rd February 2023 Dear Parents/Carers, Industrial Action Day 28/02/23 I can confirm school WILL be open for all pupils on 28/02/23. Contingency planning is in place and there will be SOME combining of classes to ensure school stays fully open, however your child CAN attend school as normal. The Key Stage 2 Gate will be closed in the morning and at home time so all children will need to come into school via the main gate. School Senior Leadership will be deployed in a teaching capacity on the day to ensure school remains open and therefore will not able to meet/talk with parents on the school gates as normal. I apologise for this but am sure you understand. For some classes there may well be changes made to their normal timetable to ensure they can attend school on the day. However, this does not affect the fact they can come to school. I need to reiterate that as a school community we fully respect the rights of those teachers who are part of the NEU to exercise their right to take part in Industrial Action. Parent’s Evening Parent’s Evening is on 1st March (next Wednesday). If you haven’t made an appointment online yet, please contact the school office. There will be an online survey for parents to complete over the course of next week (closing on Friday 3rd March) and the link will be sent out to you all on Monday. Reading Workshops Mrs Warrington apologises but will have to postpone her planned Reading Workshops for parents until the week after next. These will now take place the week beginning 6 th March and Mrs Warrington will write with more details next week. Non-Uniform Day All proceeds from today’s non-uniform day will be going towards supporting those affected in the recent Earthquakes in Turkey. This is at the request of the pupils on the School Council and demonstrates just how fantastic our pupils are in being advocates for justice in the world! Many thanks for your ongoing support
