Headteacher Update Friday 18th November 2022 Dear Parents/Carers, Parents Evening and Reading Survey Outcomes It was lovely to see so many parents attend the Parent’s Evenings over the last couple of weeks. Mrs Warrington has been looking at the results of the online Reading Survey we sent out for parents to complete and will be sending more information about how we are going to respond as a school to your great, constructive feedback. So thank you all those parents who responded! Your views really do contribute to the decisions we take as a school leadership. Working Together I am blessed as Headteacher to have a dedicated and committed staff here at Bishop Martin who come to work because they all genuinely care and want the best outcomes for your children. We don’t get everything right, no one does and we certainly aren’t perfect! However I take the relationship between home and school very seriously in working together for the benefit of your children. Bishop Martin is a school but it is also a place of work. We operate a Zero Tolerance approach to Verbal Abuse in the workplace at Bishop Martin and there are signs up in the school entrances reminding all adults of this. As a parent, myself I understand how emotional we can get about our own children but I would politely ask that if adults need to speak with school staff they do so with respect and you have the right to expect the same in return. Thank you. Sad Goodbye Today we say a sad farewell to Miss Shuttleworth! Miss Shuttleworth has been a brilliant member of the Nursery team for the past few years and also a valued staff member of the After School Club. We wish her all the best in her new job! Christmas at Bishop Martin! We are sending out the list of Christmas events again with this update along with more information about the Christmas Movie Night which is on the 14th December.
