Dear Parents/Carers, Well what a half-term we’ve had at Bishop Martin! There has been so much to enjoy and celebrate as we have tried SO hard to make school look and feel ‘normal’ again: 1. The Year 6 North Wales Residential Trip was a HUGE success and the children had a brilliant time! 2. The face to face ‘Meet the Teacher Meetings’ (after almost 18 months of Zoom!); it was so lovely seeing parents and teachers actually meeting in person after such a long time maintaining distance. 3. A hugely successful Year 5/6 Football Tournament we took part in, against the other Skelmersdale schools (where we finished 6th overall; our best performance for 8 years!) 4. An AMAZING Harvest Celebration with incredible donations from yourselves to Christ the Servant Foodbank (please check the school Tweets about this if you haven’t already done so!) 5. The first ever ‘Family Friday!’ event, in partnership with Christ the Servant last week (which we hope to make a monthly event for the school community). We have managed to enjoy all of these things while still working hard with our risk assessments and control measures to keep the school as COVID secure as possible. We can never eliminate ALL risk and there have been very few cases within school (and fortunately none that have reached the trigger point for additional measures needing to be introduced so far). We don’t know what the coming winter will bring but I am SO grateful for your support in helping make this half term such a safe and successful one! Please have a restful half-term with your loved ones and we will see all the children back safe and sound on Monday 1st November. REMINDERS ABOUT SCHOOL GROUNDS (for the health and safety of children and adults)
Bikes ridden by children, parents and visitors should be dismounted and pushed along the footpaths.
