Year 0 is the first year of a three year sixth form experience for students who haven’t met the College’s A Level / BTEC Level 3 / T Level entry requirements. It involves a full programme of study in Year 0 before moving up to Level 3 study in Years 1 and 2. Students will study two GCSE subjects that suit their future aspirations alongside GCSE Maths and/or English Language if they didn’t achieve a grade 5. Students will also complete a sixth form diploma and have academic skills and careers support along the way. what subjects are avaliable? Your college experience is not just about academic work: it’s also about the support that we give you to help you thrive in that work and be confident in your next steps. I lead the team that will support you with everything outside of the classroom and keep monitoring your progress.
Your assigned tutor will keep a close eye on how you’re getting on with work, but they are also here to help you settle in and enjoy College life from day one. You’ll have a weekly small group tutorial and termly one-to-ones with us, plus we operate an open door policy in the tutor base for you to drop in if you feel you need our help. As well as supporting you with every day College Life and academic progress, we’re also expert careers advisors, so we can help you with big decisions that will affect your future plans, and offer the best support and advice on options going forward after Year 0 and then completing your College journey.
