History Long-term plan Ashurst Wood History Long term plan, Our Rational We have taken the KPOW scheme of work and adapted it to fit our class structures and our local context. KS1
Due to the mixed age classes and the structure of the curriculum being delivered through continuous provision there is a two year rolling programme of study. The national curriculum is covered through the study of historical figures and periods of time. In the Owl class, areas of study have been chosen due to the suitability for the younger cohort but with the ability to meet the skills and knowledge needed for a year 1 programme of study also. We have also chosen a time box activity will be used to reinforce the understanding of Chronology.
KS2
In KS2 due to our mixed age classes we follow the kapow 2 year rolling programme for year 3 / 4 and 5/6. This allows us to study specific periods of time including British History as well as a study of ancient civilisations.
