7th November 2022
On Friday the 11th November we held a school Remembrance Service, students in year 9 who are currently studying World War One where invited to watch. Mr Pugh started the service with a reminder why we remember the tragedies of World War One, our head girl Niamh continued with a welcome to all students. We then heard the poems ‘Flanders Fields’ and ‘The Soldier’. Our School Choir then sung ‘Abide with Me’. Once our wonderful choir finished singing, a handmade wreath was laid at the front of our wicker Solider. A final Poem was read by our students, ‘For the Fallen’, before concluding our service.
Mr Pugh led our one minutes silence where students stood respectfully reflecting on World War One, World War Two and any service men involved in war and conflict.
