Welcome to our first newsletter of 2022!

I have always felt we are lucky in schools because we get the chance to make two sets of new year resolutions; one set in September at the start of the new academic year and one set in January at the start of a

new calendar year. I wonder how many resolutions you have made and how many of them will stand the test of time? I know one of my January resolutions shattered into tiny pieces with hours of making it on New Year’s Day, when I found myself tucking into shortbread biscuits at breakfast time! Never mind, there’s always tomorrow to try again… The very act of making resolutions is a positive one. It shows we are reflecting on the person we are and on the person we would like to be. The assembly this week encouraged you to look back and then to look forwards, and I hope you all do that. Having dreams, planning what needs to be done to achieve them and then working hard to make them come true is one of the wonderful things about being human and we miss a trick if we let this element of our humanity pass us by. I read our newsletter every week with a great sense of pride. My ambition for every member of our school family is that you live a life that makes you proud, and the newsletter gives a snapshot of just some of the things you are doing to embrace that ambition and make

it a reality. Long may this last.

Enjoy reading this edition and if you haven’t appeared in an issue yet, why not add that to your list of goals for this year?
