What we’re looking for Teaching is a vibrant, fast-paced and exciting career and we’d love you to train with us. We need you to be flexible, resilient, hard-working and focussed on helping young people achieve their potential. We believe that our accredited mentors and support team ensure that we deliver the very best teacher training around. It’s hands on, hard work in the classroom most Monday-Thursdays and our professional studies sessions are delivered in Cromwell in Chatteris or in Ipswich and Lowestoft in Suffolk.
Expert training The Active Learning Trust has an expert team of Early Career Framework practitioners who have substantial coaching, mentoring, facilitation and teaching experience and who are passionate about effective professional development of teachers and leaders at all levels. We want to provide excellent teacher training because it provides benefits to everyone – our pupils, our community and our teachers and leaders in school. We believe that our teachers who work in schools day in, day out with young people are best placed to provide teacher training and so it’s these staff who will deliver the vast majority of Professional Studies sessions. In addition to the dedicated one-on-one meeting time you’ll have each week with your mentor, you’ll also be afforded opportunities to collaborate with your fellow trainees, attend bespoke educational pedagogy training, visit pupils learning in contrasting settings to your main placement and make use of our library of modern educational theory textbooks and online resources.
Employment opportunities When you train with us, if you show excellent commitment, energy and enthusiasm then we are very likely to be able to help you to find your first teaching position in one of our schools or with other local establishments.
